Cyclonic Rift is a reflection on the political turbulence accompanying the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020. The atmosphere at that time bred a nearly constant stream of vitriol, but occasionally moments of human success emerged from the muck. Musically, the constant, unrelenting pulse from a solo instrument creates a feeling of unease, and the interruptions provided by the supporting players grant occasional reprieve.
